This is the moment a female daredevil biker flies out of a giant metal orb known as the Ball of Death in a horrific crash that left her seriously injured.

The smash happened as five bikers raced around the inside of the sphere in a high-speed, gravity-defying performance.

But footage of the terrifying crunch shows how the performance went dangerously wrong at the show by the Hungarian National Circus in Szolnok, a city in Jasz-Nagykun-Szolnok county in central Hungary on Thursday, 18th May.

As part of the stunt, the mesh sphere splits into two halves.

And as three bikers race around the top half, two blast around the lower section at high speed.

But as the pair in the bottom half move higher up the wall, one of the bikes flies off the edge.

Then as it shoots through the gap it crashes into a hydraulic lift sending the rider flying.

Terrified audience members can be heard screaming as the stunt is brought suddenly to an end.

The biker was later named only as Alice who suffered a pelvic injury, according to local media.

The circus said in a statement: “We would like to inform all our dear viewers who attended our premiere performance in Szolnok today that our female motorcyclist who suffered an accident, Alice, was taken to the hospital with a pelvic injury, and the hospital staff assured us that she is in a stable condition and will recover.”

They added: “Unfortunately, accidents can happen during the performance, despite all safety precautions, which is part of the job of a performing artist.

“We hope Alice recovers quickly and is back on the road soon, but in the meantime we would like to thank you for your interest and the good wishes!”
