Biker Killed As Riderless Bike Continues To Travel Down Road

Police are investigating after a bus smashed into the back of a motorbike and carried on for several miles with the two-wheeler wedged in front of it.

The bizarre incident happened in Uttar Pradesh when the bus rammed the bike and apparently dragged it for around 12 kilometres (7.4 miles) in the municipality of Etah.

A shocking video of the incident shows another biker overtaking the bus, which still has the other bike wedged in the front, and is seen speeding along the nighttime road.

The police reported that the driver of the bike, a young man identified as Vikas Varshney, fell off and was killed, but that the bike then carried on wedged in front of the bus.

An autopsy has confirmed the cause of death was injury sustained from the accident, and the young man’s body was handed over to the family for burial.

It is unclear whether the bus driver realised they had struck the biker and why they did not stop until travelling another 12 kilometres.

In a statement obtained by Newsflash, Uttar Pradesh police confirmed that the accident happened on the night of 19th to 20th May, saying: “A bike rider died after he was hit by a bus and the body of the victim was sent to the district hospital for a post-mortem.
