This is the shocking moment a hooded man calmly enters a shop and repeatedly stabs the cashier in the neck before she manages to escape his clutches.

The incident was filmed by CCTV cameras in the district of Motovilikhinsky in the city of Perm in the western Russian federal subject of Perm Krai when the unnamed man entered the shop with a knife in his hand.

Local police said the pair had been involved in a conflict, but did not say what that was or what the relationship was between the two of them.

As seen in the footage, the suspect immediately walks over to the worker, 50, and repeatedly stabs her in the neck and shoulder area.

As the woman tries to flee his clutches, the man appears to stab her in the head before she manages to flee, and run into a back room.

The suspect is then seen calmly leaving the shop.

According to a police statement, a local resident apprehended the man on the street and detained him there until the cops arrived.

Meanwhile, the unnamed victim, who was born in 1969, has been hospitalised. There have been no further updates on her current condition.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs said: “The detained was a man born in 1955, a native of the city of Perm, not previously convicted.

“Later, during the course of the investigative actions, he confessed and was charged.”

He is reportedly being held in preventative detention as the investigation continues.
