Two German tourists have been arrested for raping and sexually abusing a young woman in a Majorca hotel room.
The suspects, who have not been named, are reportedly 18 and 17 years old, and their alleged victim, who has not been named either, is said to also be German.
The incident allegedly took place at the Cala Rajada hotel, which is located on the island of Majorca, in the Balearic Islands, which are part of Spain, on the night of Tuesday, 21st June to Wednesday, 22nd June.
The two young men allegedly sneaked into the young woman’s hotel room while she was sleeping and repeatedly raped her and sexually abused her.
She reported the alleged rape to the Spanish civil guard at their barracks the following morning, accompanied by her family.
The police took her statement before she was taken to hospital to be medically examined, with the findings, which have not been disclosed, being handed over to the public prosecutor’s office.
The alleged victim said in her statement to the authorities that one of them raped her while the second sexually abused her.
The young woman reportedly alleged that during the ordeal, she was unable to defend herself or resist because she went into a state of shock and could not move.
Armed with the alleged victim’s statement and the medical report, the authorities arrested the two German tourists.
The 17-year-old’s case has been handed over to the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office.
One of the defendants has been charged with rape, while the other has been charged with sexual assault.
