“We are looking for them and still gathering information.”

According to G1, some local residents saw the helicopter plummeting from the sky and rushed to the scene.

They said they saw the pilot getting out of the crashed chopper before washing his bloodied head with bottled water.

Eyewitnesses also claimed that the two pilots asked them to help remove the drugs from the area, but ran away when they realised the police had been called and were about to arrive.

Both men managed to escape and are being hunted by the authorities.

The drugs were reportedly wrapped in plastic that came from Bolivia and the police are investigating if that was where the drug cargo originated from.

The investigation is ongoing and so far no arrests have been made.
