The dead top half of a newborn baby’s body has been found dumped in a public toilet by a handyman sent to unblock the lavatory.

According to the local police, the umbilical cord was still attached the infant, but it is unclear where its bottom half is.

The incident began at around 1pm on 2nd November when a woman described as being in her 20s or 30s reported the blocked toilet to staff in the pharmacy before promptly leaving.

The female assistant then contacted a maintenance worker to come and fix the broken public toilet, according to reports.

Local media said that the maintenance worker found the newborn baby’s top half in the toilet at around 8.30pm the same day.

The toilet is reportedly used by both men and women and had been cleaned at the start of the day.

The baby’s corpse still had the umbilical cord attached, but the police do not yet know its gender or what happened to the corpse’s bottom half.

The local authorities are reportedly scanning through the CCTV footage in the area for clues.

The police are treating the case as the abandonment of a corpse as the probe continues.
