GUN AND DUSTED: OAP Held Hostage At Gunpoint In Botched Burglary

This horrifying footage shows how an elderly man was held hostage at gunpoint by a wild-eyed crook in a botched burglary in Brazil.

The motorbike helmet-wearing crook had broken into the man’s house in Goiania, Goias state, west-central Brazil on Sunday, 11th September.

The crook – identified as Wanderson Carvalho de Oliveira, 37 – had been trying to break into a business underneath the man’s home to steal a safe.

However, said his lawyer, the OAP had caught him red-handed and called police.

Carvalho de Oliveira filmed himself threatening the man and demanding a bulletproof vest before – bizarrely – sending the footage to his lawyer.

His lawyer sent the footage to a local TV channel and said her client would only give himself up in the presence of reporters, as he feared being killed.

Police said the stand-off ended when the man turned himself in at around 2pm following tense negotiations.

He had been delivered a bulletproof vest and local press had arrived on the scene before he agreed to give himself up.

The elderly hostage was left shaken by the ordeal, said his family, and he sustained minor injuries to his neck from rough way the suspect had handled him.
