This artist has reportedly made the world’s smallest coin replica – as seen here – and has submitted his achievement to Guinness World Records where he already holds the record for the world’s smallest book.
Vladimir Aniskin, 46, a micro-art master from the city of Novosibirsk in the southern Russian region of Novosibirsk Oblast, wrote about his record attempt on social media where he asked friends to help buy the equipment needed for making the coin.
He said: “I spent the whole summer looking for ‘the smallest things’ registered with Guinness. It was not as easy as it appeared at first.”
After compiling a list of the dozen smallest objects, Aniskin decided to make the world’s smallest copy of a coin because the previous record was of a coin with a diameter of 4.42 millimetres.
According to the micro artist, Guinness told him: “We are ready to examine your request and we need all the evidence. The coin should be smaller than the original and contain all the same details and be made of the same material. Photo and video evidence of the coin’s production should be supplied.”
The first video shows the replica of the original coin resting on a fingertip. It has a diameter of 3 millimetres (0.12 inches), according to local media.
The second video shows the original 10-RUB (0.12-GBP) coin named ‘Seyatel’ which was first produced in 1923 and has a diameter of 22 millimetres (0.87 inches).
Aniskin has been a micro artist since 1998 and he recently made the smallest book in the world sized 0.07 by 0.09 millimetres which has already been registered with Guinness World Records, according to local media.
