Cameras inside a stolen vehicle showed how three carjackers grinned widely as they led police on a wild goose chase through narrow, winding streets.

The hot pursuit took place in Sao Bernardo do Campo, Sao Paulo state, south-eastern Brazil on Friday, 2nd September.

A camera inside the car filmed how the three crooks failed to stop when Municipal Guards tried to pull them over and instead tried to shake them off their tail.

The camera caught all their conversation, including when one asked if either of his accomplices had taken the victim’s mobile phone.

Incredibly, one appeared to be having fun and grinned widely as he looked for valuables to snatch from inside the vehicle.

He could also be seen barking out instructions as his accomplice behind the wheel led cops on a fruitless pursuit down the city’s maze-like roads.

But the hot pursuit came to a head a few minutes later after the speeding trio crashed into a parked car, reported local media.

A second piece of footage ends with the alleged carjackers apparently being launched from their seats into the air.

The three men reportedly abandoned the stolen vehicle and fled on foot. Local media said one was arrested while the other two managed to escape.
