Stunning Russian glamour model Alena Shishkova has been slammed for appearing “anorexic” in her recent social media snaps forcing her to defend her appearance as “just good metabolism”.

The gorgeous blonde model shared two photos of her posing by a swimming pool while wearing a red bikini for her huge army of 6.5 million Instagram followers.

However, many fans were concerned about her “anorexic” appearance highlighted by apparently pronounced rib cage.

The 26-year-old beauty, who came third in Miss Russia 2012 and now models for the fashion industry’s biggest brands and magazines, responded to online criticism by saying: “Right now, I weigh 48 kilogrammes (7.6 stone).

“I please ask you not to refer to it as ‘anorexia’, it is just good metabolism. I burn many calories in the morning, afternoon and evening. Everything is all right.”

Shishkova also told fans that she is a good eater and used to weigh even less than she does now.

The model is 5’9” tall and hails from the Siberian city of Tyumen.

However, many fans were stunned by appearance and her post attracted online comments such as “anorexi-sexual”, “what is wrong with you?”, “beautiful but too thin” and “your thinness is abnormal”.

The beautiful blonde did have some supporters and one follower responded: “Why are you all being so aggressive? Maybe she is not able to put weight on, anything is possible.”
