Girl, 7, Crushed To Death Under School Minivan After Drop-Off With Driver Found To Have No Licence

This footage shows a seven-year-old girl being crushed to death under a school minivan after she was dropped off, and the driver was allegedly found to not have a licence.

The incident took place in the subdistrict of Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi, which is located in the Malaysian state of Selangor, on Friday (12th November).

The footage begins with the young girl, who has not been named, seen walking in front of the minivan after just having been dropped off at school.

However, the driver, who has not been named either, appears to fail to notice the young girl walking in front of the vehicle and drives off.

The young girl is knocked over by the vehicle and is then run over by its front left wheel as well as its rear left wheel before the minivan comes to a stop.

The driver then gets out and realises what has just happened. She runs over to the girl and picks up her lifeless body while shouting.

People come out of the building in front of which the van was stopped as the footage ends.

The young girl suffered injuries to her head and passed away while being treated in hospital, according to media outlet Asia One.

Sepang District Deputy Chief Md Noor Aehwan Mohammad told the newspaper that the incident took place on Friday at 12:10pm.

The driver, who is reportedly 31 years old, had just dropped some pupils off at a school.

It is alleged that she did not have a valid driving licence.

Mohammad also said: “The hospital’s medical officer confirmed the girl’s death and her body was sent to Putrajaya Hospital for an autopsy. The driver’s statement was recorded and the case is currently being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.”

Malaysia’s Minister for Transport Wee Ka Siong shared his condolences with the girl’s family online on Saturday 13th November.

He wrote: “Heartbreaking to hear news of a Year One student who died after being hit by a van in Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi yesterday.”

It is currently unclear if the driver has been detained.
