This is the astonishing moment a 7.7-pound fish escapes from net while the fisherman goes to the toilet.

A man was calmly fishing by the river in the city of Dongguan, in Guangdong province, located in southern China, on 28th May.

He realised that he had to go to the bathroom and left the fish he had caught far away from the water inside a keep net.

But a bizarre CCTV video shows how his catch of the day broke free and manage to flip and wriggle its way along the jetty and back into the water.

When the man returned he saw that the net had been moved and at first thought his fish could have been stolen.

It was not until he watch the CCTV playback that he realised the fish had done it all by itself.

Many netizens reacted to the unique escape of the fish.
