This is the ‘Fawlty Towers’ moment a frustrated female motorist smashes up her own car in the middle of the street.

The incident was filmed in the crowded district of Sisli in Turkey’s largest city Istanbul and shared on YouTube where it has been viewed 19,000 times.

According to reports, the unnamed woman came back to her car after a dentist appointment and suddenly flipped out for unknown reasons.

The young woman suffered a Basil Fawlty-type episode and reportedly snapped off a windscreen wiper which she then used to repeatedly whack her car in front of stunned passersby.

She also broke the wing mirrors and attacked an onlooker who tried to calm her down, according to reports.

At the end of her public meltdown, the frustrated motorist collapsed on the pavement and another woman tried to help her.

In the footage, the young woman is seen repeatedly whacking her white car with a windscreen wiper.

Dozens of passersby gawp at the frustrated motorist while another woman in beige tries to reason with her.

At the end of the clip, the woman collapses on the pavement as the female onlooker offers her assistance.

In the ‘Gourmet Night’ episode of the hit sitcom ‘Fawlty Towers’, Basil famously gave his Austin 1100 car a “damn good thrashing” with a tree branch.
