The shootout occurred during a regional youth match for Liga de la Amistad (Friendship League) in the city of Laguna Paiva located in the Santa Fe province in northern Argentina on Sunday 17th November.

Local media report he walked onto the pitch and fired one of his two weapons in the 30th minute of the match allegedly trying to kill the second shooter named in reports as ‘Juancho’.

Local media report the two exchanged gunshots in the middle of the pitch despite the fact the youth match was being played and many of the spectators were also children with their families.

Nobody was injured in the shootout.

Acevedo reportedly fled the scene but was caught two blocks away when fans apprehended and brutally beat him.

The video shows the moment Acevedo is on his knees with several injuries to his face as a police officer and a woman hold the man down while they wait for a police car to arrive.

While the two wait people can be heard saying “let people hit him a little while longer” and “you rat!”.

The person filming the incident is then heard saying: “You think it is nice you deadbeat with all the kids that were there! No! Your head is in other things, junkie piece of sh*t!”

The person is then heard yelling “do not let him loose!” while Acevedo is taken to the police car.

‘Juancho’ reportedly took the weapons off Acevedo before fleeing. It is unclear if there is a warrant for his arrest.

Acevedo, who is reportedly also wanted for attempted homicide and a robbery, both from this year, was put in preventative custody after he was released from the Cullen Hospital.

Local media report the motive for the shootout is unclear but could have been instigated by a dispute between rival gangs.
