An American influencer with nine adopted sons who adopted a fake Hasidic Jewish identity has been charged with child sex abuse.

Sick Hayim Nissim Cohen – born Jeffrey Lujan Vejil – has been charged with 11 crimes relating to seven victims by officials in Texas State, USA.

He is now being held in pre-trial detention in a jail in the city of Houston.

Cohen, 38, had hundreds of thousands of social media followers, with whom he shared snapshots of his unusual family life.

But he has now been hit with a series of criminal charges, including injury to a child under 15, sexual assault, aggravated sexual assault of a child, and continuous sexual abuse of a child.

These come in addition to multiple charges dating to last month (February) and an abuse charge dating to 2019.

The latest series of charges were issued after a boy anonymously called a podcast in February to tell how his adoptive father had raped and abused him since he was 11 years old.

Podcaster Twaiyah Paynes eventually tracked the family down online and reported the dad to authorities.

Shortly afterwards, more children came forward to accuse Cohen of abuse.

The complainants say the suspect whipped them using a belt, pepper-sprayed them, and even threatened to kill them.

The alleged incidents occurred between 2018 and February this year (2023).

The 2019 charge concerns allegations that Cohen abused a Spanish exchange student while hosting the minor a year earlier.

Cohen’s six underage adoptive sons have since been taken into foster care.

Bafflingly, Cohen posed as a Hasidic Jewish single father online, where he documented his family’s conservative lifestyle.

He had hundreds of thousands of followers across multiple social networks.

He claimed he grew up as a Yiddish speaker in New York City and even professed to be a rabbi.

But it was later found that he was born and raised in the city of Odessa, Texas, and was not even Jewish.

He is believed to have changed his name by deed poll to Hayim Nissim Cohen in 2010.

None of his adopted children were born Jewish, but Cohen gave them Jewish identities after adopting them.

It is believed he never had a proper job and it is not clear how he afforded his family’s upkeep.

An anonymous member of Houston’s Orthodox Jewish community told media: “This guy made up a whole backstory.

“He’s a very smart guy. This guy is a Ted Bundy-level sociopath. He’s very intelligent, very conniving, very manipulative.”
