The young woman Walirrane Ramos, 26, who works as a nail artist and hails from Goiania in the Brazilian state of Goias, said she was terrified after getting into the car and realising that the man was asking her very personal questions.

She said it made her nervous and terrified when she realised that the man on the licence did not appear to be the man who was driving.

She said: “I looked at the app and saw that it wasn’t the same person, that he was much younger than the photo. I texted my friend, saying I was scared.”

The friend had advised her to say that she had forgotten her keys but when she asked him to turn back, he allegedly instead sped up and stopped talking to her.

He also reportedly refused to allow her to lower the window to stop her from calling for help.

She said that when she realised that he was apparently kidnapping her, she decided to risk her life rather than be raped, and jumped out of the moving vehicle.

She told local media: “I was knocked unconscious. He apparently was the one that called for help but he didn’t stay around, he fled the scene. My handbag was still in his car, and later somebody threw it into my back garden and there was a letter from him.”

After she was found at the side of the road, she was taken to the Goias State Emergency Hospital, where she stayed for 24 hours before being discharged.

She has filed a complaint with the police about the incident that happened on 19th December and also handed them the letter that he wrote, in which he said: “I want you to know that I never wanted to be mean to you, because I’m married and I have children.

“I am going through a difficult time financially, so I was using my father’s account, as my account has not yet been approved.”

He admitted that he had fled the scene but stressed that he was the one who had called the ambulance and had not remained because he was worried about being attacked. Jenny realised he had her purse when he got home.
