A former pin-up boy for the so-called Islamic State who left Austria to fight for the terror group is now lecturing politicians, police officers and school children on how to avoid brainwashing.

Oliver N. is a former Islamic State (IS) fighter who has renounced jihadism after moving to Syria as a 16-year-old to join the terrorist militia.

The former fighter comes from the Austrian capital Vienna but was in Syria for several years before coming back and trying to make peace again.

He once said in a propaganda video: “I want to invite you to manslaughter, even the non-believers.”

In 2014, the Austrian spent seven months rising up the ranks within IS.

It was not until he was seriously injured in a bombing raid that he changed his mind.

After having his spleen removed in a Turkish hospital and being allowed to recover from the incident at home, he was sentenced to two and a half years in prison for being a member of the terrorist organisation.

The first deaths he witnessed were those who were beheaded by IS. The terrorists then dragged the bodies of the dead Syrian soldiers through the city by car.

Oliver N. now has a different goal in life. He lectures police officers and politicians, as well as school children to warn them about the way in which the IS brainwashes people.

The former IS fighter says: “I have seen more than 50 dead. I do not want to hide anymore, I want to make amends.”

He has been featured on the TV documentary ‘Panorama’ and is now reportedly considered a traitor by IS.
