Cops have collared a pastor over sex abuse after women claimed he abused them in a locked room saying the sick acts would exorcise a “sex spirit” from their bodies.

The arrest took place at the Church of Manantial de la Vida in the city of Berisso in the eastern Argentine province of Buenos Aires after a 20-year-old churchgoer of five years reported the pastor and prompted an investigation.

The unnamed woman claimed that the 57-year-old locked her in a room and touched her inappropriately under the pretence that he was “removing the sex spirit from her body”.

The young woman said that she has been suffering with depression ever since the alleged incident.

Investigators soon uncovered three other similar cases of sexual abuse, according to reports.

A 22-year-old woman said that the pastor locked her in the ‘liberation room’, as he allegedly called it.

She then claimed that he carried out the same acts described by the other victim in order to free her of the “sex spirit”.

The pastor has also been charged with sexually abusing two minors aged 17 and 15. The age of consent in Argentina is 18 years old.

According to local media, prosecutor Ana Maria Medina is in charge of the ongoing investigation.
