This is the moment a lorry driver crashes into a lane divider at a toll booth and flips the wrecked vehicle on its side after reportedly falling asleep at the wheel.
The incident took place in the district of Zadonsky in the western Russian region of Lipetsk Oblast on 29th April when the unnamed lorry driver, 41, reportedly fell asleep.
In the CCTV footage, the lorry is seen approaching the toll both before ploughing into the lane divider and flipping on its side amid a huge cloud of dust and rubble.
According to local media, an ambulance was called to the scene to provide first aid to the lorry driver.
The 41-year-old man suffered several injuries but none of them serious and he did not need to be hospitalised, according to reports.
Netizen ‘Alexander’ commented: “I do not have any issues with the driver, he obviously fell asleep, which happens, especially when driving at night, but I have questions for the lorry manufacturer. What are you making them with for them to become so damaged in such a minor accident?”
‘Denis Fedotov’ said: “I am shocked. At first, I thought there was no way the driver could survive, but he didn’t even need to go to hospital.”
Local authorities have not commented on the matter.
