This is the moment DJ Alok, who was ranked one of the best DJs in the world last year, is chased by a huge bear while snowboarding in the mountains.

Alok Achkar Peres Petrillo, 30, who is also a record producer, musician and best known for his single ‘Hear Me Now’, shared the footage of the bear pursuit for his 27 million followers on Instagram, where he admitted he had not even noticed the large animal until he watched the video later.

He told his fans: “Watch until the end. I was watching some videos of the trip and this day was crazy!

“I was checking some videos from my trip and… What a day!”

Alok said he was snowboarding in Europe when the bear, unbeknown to him, suddenly appeared on the piste and chased after him.

He had travelled with his wife Romana Novais to France earlier this month and, on the day in question, had taken to the slopes with a camera on the end of a selfie stick.

In the footage, the DJ is seen sitting in the snow before getting to his feet and hopping on his snowboard.

While cruising down the piste, the huge bear is seen running behind the DJ as he films himself, apparently unaware the stocky predator is there.

Alok continues filming himself while snowboarding as the bear gives up the chase and apparently stops before disappearing into the tree line.

Instagram user ‘Claulimaribeiro’ commented: “There was a bear behind you! You didn’t see it at the time, did you? I’ve watched this videos 28,363 times because I couldn’t believe it!”

Netizen ‘Cavalcante_lane90’ said: “If that were me, I would have panicked and fallen over 300 times.”

Alok was ranked the fourth best DJ in the world – the highest position occupied by a Brazilian – by DJ Mag in 2021.

Following his lucky escape, he will be performing at London’s famed Ministry of Sound club on 12th March.
