Diego Maradona Raped Me While My Mother Was Crying On The Other Side Of The Door

A woman has claimed that football legend Diego Maradona raped her while her mother was crying “on the other side of the door”.

Mavys Alvarez, a Cuban woman, made the bombshell claims in an exclusive interview with local media outlet Infobae where she alleges that the rape took place in Cuba in 2001 when she was just 17 years old.

She also reportedly said that the incident was the worst moment of her life, and that she was in an abusive relationship with the former captain of the Argentina national team.

In the bombshell interview, she also claimed that she was forced to consume cocaine and that she was regularly beaten without anyone in the football superstar’s entourage intervening.

She said: “This is the first time I have come to Argentina since 2001, when I came with Diego. Now I can walk around a little, but last time I wasn’t able to see anything. I was kidnapped.”

She was reportedly in Argentina to give testimony to the local authorities after she filed a complaint for human trafficking.

The case, in which five people have been named as defendants, is currently in the hands of Judge Daniel Rafecas.

It is centred around Maradona’s time he spent at the La Pradera de Cuba health centre, which is located in the Cuban city of Matanzas, in 2000 and 2001.

Alvarez is named as a victim in the case, which was reportedly brought by Fernando Miguez from the NGO Foundation for Peace and Climate Change.

Alvarez was assisted by two lawyers named by Infobae as Gaston Marano and Marcela Scotti, with the newspaper reporting that they interviewed her shortly after she made her statement to the authorities.

She reportedly told Infobae what she told the court under oath: “Maradona covered my mouth so I wouldn’t scream, so I wouldn’t say anything, and he abused me.

“My mum came to see me that day at the house we were at in Havana and Diego did not want to open the bedroom door for her.

“My mum knocked and he didn’t open it. He raped me. That’s what happened.”

She added: “Diego Maradona raped me while my mother was crying on the other side of the door.”

Infobae asked her why she had come forwards only now, after 20 years, and she said: “Well, Fidel Castro died, Diego Maradona died, my daughter is 15 years old.

“In our family we are going through a stage of adolescence for my daughter that is complicated, because all adolescent children, boys are difficult.

“And it made me think and remember the fact that my daughter is almost the same age as I was back then.

“My memories fired up at that moment but I reaffirmed it more when I read the note that Infobae had published. A friend let me know and told me that they had published that note and that they were saying my name. They had never told me about it. I made up my mind to speak because I didn’t want them to tell a false story about my life.”

She said that her time in Argentina 20 years ago was “traumatic, because I saw many things… I was locked up, I couldn’t go out, I depended on everyone for everything and no one did anything to make me feel good.”

She added that Maradona effectively kept her prisoner, saying: “At a certain point I tried to leave the hotel and he told me not to put his job at risk… I was limited in everything, that is, I could not do anything. I couldn’t get out of the hotel.

“I had to ask permission for everything I could or could not do. I didn’t leave my room. I had security but not so I could move freely, but so I couldn’t move at all instead.”

She also revealed the late footballer pressured her into a boob job, saying: “Diego thought I’d look better with bigger breasts. He didn’t like small breasts. He wanted me to get bigger ones.”

She was just 17 at the time, and she eventually got a smaller size than the one Maradona allegedly wanted on doctors’ advice after he allegedly pressured her into the cosmetic op, which her parents were unaware of.

She also recounted episodes of violence, such as when the football superstar allegedly slapped her and threw her against the bed after she allegedly answered his mobile phone when he was asleep and his wife was on the other end.

Or another occasion, she accidentally bumped into him at a nightclub and he allegedly dragged her up the stairs by her hair as punishment.

Alvarez also accused the late footballer of getting her hooked on drugs and even says they once went to see the late Cuban leader Fidel Castro, whom she said would have clearly known she was underage at the time and was romantically involved with the footballer.

Addressing the late footballer’s five children, Alvarez said: “I’d like to apologise if my confession makes you feel bad. I do not make it with that objective.

“I’m sorry if I hurt you with my words. But it was what I experienced. I wish I hadn’t had to live that way. It’s strong, I understand that. I am convinced that he must have been a wonderful father to his daughters. But this is my story, what I lived. I cannot say anything else.”
