A man furious at being dumped staged a bloodbath in which he allegedly executed not only his former partner and her mother, but also their two young children as well.
The incident took place in the town of Sassuolo, which is located in the north-central Italian province of Modena, when Nabil Dhahri, who was unhappy that his relationship had ended, carried out the massacre before killing himself some time between 15th and 16th November, according to local media outlet Caffeina.
Dhahri, 38, is believed to have used a knife to kill his ex-partner, who has been named as Elisa Mulas, 43, along with their two young children, who have not been named but who were reportedly two and five years old, according to local media outlet Today.

Dhahri also murdered his ex-partner’s mother, who has been named as Simonetta Fontana.
An unnamed 11-year-old girl, reportedly Elisa’s daughter from a previous relationship, escaped the massacre unharmed because she was at school.
And local media outlet Gazzetta del Sud reported that an elderly man in his 90s, the great-grandfather of the two murdered children, was also present in the home at the time of the multiple murders and he also survived.

The gruesome discovery was only made when no one showed up to collect the 11-year-old girl from school.
Eventually, Elisa’s brother, named as Enrico Mulas, went to the family home along with the police after his phone calls went unanswered, according to local media outlet Fanpage.
They reportedly discovered the four victims on the floor in the house in a pool of blood. They are believed to have been killed with a blade.

The body of the alleged killer, Dhahri, was reportedly also found nearby.
Mulas is quoted by Fanpage as saying: “They called me from the school, no one answered. When I got here, there was a patrol, I had the keys. We went up, I opened the door, I saw a body on the ground.”
He added that his sister Elisa “was an unfortunate girl, she met the wrong people. She, her mother and her children have left behind a great void”.

The police investigation is ongoing.
