This is the cute cat that began to fall ill when its owner died but quickly started to recover after being brought to the man’s grave where it enjoys sitting and staring at the headstone.

The incident was posted on Facebook by Indonesian netizen ‘Fadhil Raihan’ where it has been shared 25,000 times and ‘liked’ by 50,000 people.

Raihan said that the cat, called Rambo, had belonged to his father and began to appear ill after the older man passed away.

The dad had adopted the cat as a kitten and they developed a special bond. Raihan said that they went everywhere together and even slept side-by-side in bed.

On the day the father passed away, the cat developed a fever and would not eat anything, according to Raihan.

Rambo was taken to a vet and returned home a few days later, but the cat was still not himself and Raihan said his eyes were lifeless.

The vet told Raihan that the cat was displaying symptoms of emotional pain rather than physical pain, and was apparently down and lethargic as a result.

He then decided to bring the cat to his dad’s grave where Rambo immediately began to perk up.

Raihan wrote: “When I was at my late father’s grave, Rambo just sat down while looking around. Then he walked alone with his eyes gazed towards my father’s tombstone and sat there silently while we all recited our prayers together.”

When they were leaving the cemetery in their car, little Rambo kept his gaze fixed on the headstone until it was out of sight.

After arriving home, the cat started to eat and drink again.

Following the incident, Raihan believes that animals can experience the same emotions as humans when they lose someone they love.

In many cultures a cat’s habit of seemingly staring into space has led to rumours that they can see the dead, and in Egyptian culture the are listed in the Book Of The Dead offering protection to humans.
