A daredevil driver in a red Jeep was caught on video attempting to conquer a snowy hill but wound up rolling backwards and nearly ran over his friends while they were filming the failed stunt.

Dash-cam footage shows the driver, not named in local media, attempting the risky move up a steep slope near Shenyang, in China’s north-eastern Liaoning Province, at around 2:20pm on 22nd January

In the video, the red Jeep was seen taking off from next to two parked cars, gradually making its way up the hill.

As the driver advanced towards the top, his three friends stood behind filming the manoeuvre.

But just before he could reach it, his vehicle slid backwards.

He managed to turn the Jeep around but mistakenly stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake, local media reported.

It resulted in him speeding out of control down the hill, narrowly hitting his friends and crashing into the two vehicles.

Debris could be seen flying everywhere before the Jeep crashed into the second car and the entire scene was enveloped by smoke.

Then, just seconds before the footage ends, the driver could be seen exiting the Jeep, seemingly unharmed.

All four escaped the incident without any injuries, local media said.

The following day, they shared the video on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok. As a reminder to other motorists to be careful when driving off-road.
