A Russian father has been arrested for stabbing one of his friends to death and dumping the body in a forest because he raped his nine-year-old daughter.

Vyacheslav M., 34, has been arrested on suspicion of killing Oleg Sviridov, 32, after finding out he sexually abused his daughter in the village of Vintai in the district of Krasnoglinsky in the Russian city of Samara on Thursday (2nd September).

According to a statement made by the investigative committee for Samara, Oleg’s dead body was found in the woods with multiple stab wounds.

Shortly afterwards, Vyacheslav surrendered himself to the police and claimed that his friend “ran into his knife during an argument”.

The news site Samara Kp said Vyacheslav killed his friend as an act of revenge after finding out Oleg raped his nine-year-old daughter.

Local media said the two long-time friends were drinking together after work and eventually fell asleep.

Vyacheslav is believed to have woken up in the middle of the night and while scrolling through Oleg’s phone, he found a video of the man allegedly forcing the girl to perform oral sex.

After finding the video, Vyacheslav reportedly beat Oleg who eventually managed to stumble out of the house.

The following day, Vyacheslav found out that Oleg was accused of raping someone else’s daughter in the village in 2016.

Vyacheslav is believed to have gone after Oleg again after finding out this information, but this time he reportedly stabbed him to death and dumped his body in the woods.

According to the investigative committee, Oleg previously raped two girls, aged 6 and 8, between 2016 and 2021.

Vyacheslav is currently being held in detention on suspicion of murder as the investigation continues.
