This viral video seen more than eight million times shows a dad providing more entertainment than he planned when he got his head stuck between the legs of a stool trying to make his son laugh.

After failing to extricate himself for more than 30 minutes, the fire service had to be called to the Lianhua Shancheng Residential District in Lanling, which is a county in East China’s Shandong Province.

The dad revealed to rescuers that he was playing with his son and apparently wanted to make him laugh by sticking his head between the metal stool legs.

However, he soon found himself unable to remove the stools, which caught painfully around his neck when he tried to do so.

Firefighters showed up at just after 10pm local time on 14th June and, using the right tools, were very quickly able to spare the dad from further embarrassment.

They can be seen inspecting the stool and severing two of the metal legs using a hydraulic cutter.

However, they are unable to stop the homeowner’s cheeky boy from going round and taking photos of his dad’s most awkward moment.

The fire service said the rescue took all of three minutes, with the dad having not suffered any serious physical injuries.
