Toddler Gives Pet Dog Huge Hug When Mum Tells Him It Is Old

This is the moment a toddler gives his dog a huge hug when his mum tells him that the pooch is “really old”.

The tender scene was filmed by Ms Tang at her home in the city of Changzhou in the eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu.

Ms Tang said the incident took place after a short walk outside with her two-year-old son and five-year-old pooch.

She said the chubby dog had trouble keeping up, despite still being relatively young, and the family had to return home earlier than expected due to the animal’s poor fitness.

Ms Tang said her son, who sees the dog as his ‘older brother’, was having fun on the stroll and was upset that they had to cut it short.

After growing tired of her son complaining back at the house, the mother shot back: “It’s because the dog is really old!”

The young lad became emotional and went over to the resting pooch to give it a huge hug.

Ms Tang said he cried at the thought of them not being together because he sees the family pet as his brother.

Fortunately, the pooch, despite being overweight, is only five years old and should give the youngster plenty of loyal companionship for many more years.
