Argentinian actress Eva De Dominici whose real name is Eva Carolina Quattrocci, 27, was left with agonising burns to her chest and right arm after the kitchen disaster at the Los Angeles home she shares with Penelope’s brother Eduardo.

She said she wanted to share the images to give other people who had also suffered accidents the courage to go on.

She added that while the photos are shocking, they are not recent, and that the accident happened a year ago when a machine in her kitchen exploded.

Eva – who has almost three million followers on Instagram – said that after 24 hours she had tried to continue working as she was in the middle of filming a series called ‘The Cleaning Lady’, but the pain was unbearable as she travelled from city to city.

She added: “I didn’t like talking about the accident at the time, I just needed somebody there to be with me as I was going through physical pain and mental exhaustion.”

And she added that carrying on working had given her the strength to continue.

She did not say what she had been cooking or what the device was other than to describe it as a machine that does everything by itself and added: “Suddenly it exploded”.

She concluded the note by saying: “A hug to all the people who are in the recovery stage.”
