Spain Man Stung 25X On Head By Murder Hornets

A Spanish man has been hospitalised after being stung 25 times on his head by fearsome ‘murder hornets’.

The incident took place in the village of Rial in the municipality of Rianjo located in the north-western Spanish region of Galicia when the unnamed man was cleaning the roof of his bungalow.

The hive of the Asian giant hornet (Vespa mandarinia), nicknamed ‘murder hornets’, was reportedly under a roofing sheet and the scary winged insects attacked the home owner when they felt threatened.

The unnamed man was reportedly stung 25 times on his head.

An ambulance was called to the scene and the man was taken to the Santiago Clinic Hospital.

According to reports, he was unconscious when he was admitted but he is not believed to be in a life-threatening condition.

Doctors are continuing to monitor the man as the venom can sometimes take effect several hours after being stung.

Meanwhile, firefighters went to the patient’s house to remove the murder hornets’ hive to prevent them attacking other people.

According to the local newspaper La Voz de Galicia, murder hornets have killed two people in the Spanish region this month.

Civil Protection official Lolo Andrade said: “Councils will set traps for the hornets, people should not try to interfere. We have detected more queens in our traps recently.”
