Russian prosecutors are investigating after a woman was seen being roughly manhandled and left without medical attention as she moaned in obvious pain and later died.

The woman had apparently been suffering from cirrhosis of the liver and was taken to city hospital No. 7 in Komsomolsk-on-Amur in Khabarovsk Krai on 11th November.

Once there, she was placed on a gurney and left apparently for two hours moaning and in discomfort before she was finally treated.

At that time, a video shows a security guard speaking to her and telling her to stop making a fuss and roughly manhandling her back onto the bed a couple of times.

He also allegedly hit her a couple of times.

At one point, he tells the unnamed 40-year-old: “Stop moving, or you’re going to end up on the floor.”

Eyewitnesses said she was later taken to intensive care and after it was announced that she had died.

The Ministry of Health revealed it was carrying out an internal investigation.

The hospital meanwhile insists that their staff provide all the necessary care given the circumstances.

The investigation had been carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office of the Khabarovsk Territory.

A forensic examination to determine the cause of death has been ordered.
