Cruel Smugglers Wrap Cute Gibbon Babies In Plastic Bags

These images show the adorable baby Gibbons found at Moscow Airport wrapped in bags as they were being smuggled into Russia from Vietnam – and one of the apes died after the long flight.

The four cute gibbons were reportedly found by customs officers when they were checking the luggage of a 44-year-old Vietnamese woman at Sheremetyevo Airport in the Russian capital Moscow.

Reports state the officers heard strange noises coming from a cage transporting a husky dog and they found an additional cage which four baby gibbons aged between two and four months which had been wrapped tightly in bags.

In the video, officers can be seen finding the gibbons in the bags.

The woman was asked to provide the necessary CITES (the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) certificates and other permits for exotic animals but she could not do so.

The gibbons are said to have been in extremely poor condition and one of the apes died after the long flight from Vietnam.

The Vietnamese woman was arrested but it is unclear if she has been charged.

Gibbons are a family of small apes found in the tropical forests of Southeast Asia.

Most gibbons are considered to be endangered species.
