Accused Andreas S.’s mother had been away on a business trip when he killed the rest of the family.

To cover his tracks, he sent his mother a message claiming the broadband was down, finishing it off with: “Everything is fine.”

He is charged with killing his father Andreas, 52, and sister Diana, 25, at the family home in Roevershagen, Germany, on 7th February.

Prosecutors say he fired four crossbow bolts into his sleeping father’s head before slashing his neck with a machete.

He then lured his sister to the family home, claiming he had a surprise for her.

Prosecutors believe he made her kneel and wear opaque glasses and earmuffs before shooting her three times in the head with the crossbow and then stabbing her in the chest.

The district court in Rostock has now heard how Andreas’s mother Larissa became worried when she was unable to contact her husband and daughter.

Chillingly, the court heard how Andreas S. sent her a message claiming there were problems with the internet and the phone line but that “everything is fine”.

He also told her he would pick her up at Rostock train station on 11th February.

Later that day, the 48-year-old would meet the same fate as her husband and daughter, the court heard.

Prosecutors say Andreas had also told her he had a surprise for her and had persuaded her to wear the opaque glasses before firing a crossbow bolt into her head and finishing her off with the machete.
