The burglaries – all at a luxury home in Frankfurt’s most exclusive neighbourhood – happened over a period of nine months last year.

Details of the thefts emerged as police turned to TV real-life crime show ‘Aktenzeichen XY Ungeloest’ – or ‘Case Number XY Unsolved’ – for help.

Officers have not revealed the name of the victim or why the crimes went apparently unnoticed for nearly a year.

In a statement from 8th August obtained by Newsflash, Frankfurt police said the crooks had staged six break-ins between February 2020 and October 2022 worth more than EUR 250,000 (GBP 214,810).

They explained: “The break-ins took place at the apartment of a Frankfurt-based restaurant manager in Sachsenhausen.”

Sachsenhausen is one of the city’s poshest neighbourhoods.

Police released three images caught on CCTV surveillance cameras in the apartment.

Two show one of the suspects wearing a tracksuit, a reversed baseball cap and glasses.

In one photo, the burglar is bending down to search the apartment with a torch.

In their statement, the police explains: “The image shows a perpetrator during a break-in in April 2021.

“However, investigations suggest that there have been accomplices.”

A third badly blurred image shows another suspect wearing a dark hoodie with the word ‘INFLUENCER’ across his chest.

Police are now pinning their hopes on the pair being recognised by sharp-eyed viewers on the Crimewatch-style TV crime reconstruction show, said local media.

The investigation continues.
