This is the moment a massive centipede ‘bites’ a barber who lets out a yelp and jumps into the air after stepping on it.

The incident, involving a giant, 12-centimetre (4.7-inch) centipede took place at a barber’s in Ji’an, which is a city in the eastern Chinese province of Jiangxi, on Thursday, 2nd June.

The footage shows the barber, who has not been named, giving a female customer a haircut. The centipede can be seen scurrying under the woman’s chair but neither of them notices it.

But all of a sudden the barber shifts his position and steps on the centipede, which appears to ‘bite’ him, causing him to yelp and leap into the air in pain and shock.

He then stamps on it again and the centipede can be seen writhing, apparently injured.

Local media reports that the barber immediately disinfected the wound and took antiallergic medicine.

Centipedes don’t actually ‘bite’, but they can leave punctures delivered by their venomous forelegs.
