Two cops have been suspended after this video of them humiliating three transgender women by making them say ‘I want to be a man’ while they are forced to do squats surfaced.

The clip was reportedly recorded by the officers in the district of Bellavista in the Constitutional Province of Callao in eastern Peru in March but has only recently surfaced in local media.

The footage shows three transgender women doing squats while they repeatedly say: “I want to be a man”.

A cop is heard saying: “Say it louder, the three of you at the same time. I can’t hear anything.”

One of the women then says: “Sir please, I have silicon, I am getting tired!”

The footage was reportedly recorded before coronavirus lockdown was declared in the country on 15th March but it has resulted in the two officers that recorded the clip, who have not been named, being suspended after a police investigation.

The National Police of Peru said on Twitter this Tuesday: “We want to inform you that we have identified the two policemen of the Bellavista police station who physically punished some members of the LGTBI community, and they have been suspended for serious misconduct.”

Lima City Councillor Manuel Siccha who is homosexual said on Twitter: “The Peruvian police proving once again their institutional transphobia by forcing trans women to shout “I want to be a man” When is it going to stop?”
