Police in China are offering an 11,000-GBP reward for information regarding the whereabouts of a woman wanted for murder who has been dubbed the country’s ‘prettiest suspect’ after her picture emerged.

Xie Liping, 51, has been nicknamed the ‘beautiful venomous snake’, who has been on the run for 17 years.

A black-and-white picture of Xie, released by authorities in the city of Yuncheng in North China’s Shanxi Province, is the best image police have of the woman who they say killed an individual in April 2002.

It shows the attractive, long-haired woman smiling at the camera, leading members of the public to comment on her looks and calling her China’s ‘prettiest suspect’.

However, an officer with the Yumen Branch of the Yuncheng Public Security Bureau admitted her current looks would likely vary greatly from the photo.

Spokesperson Mr Zhang said: “This is the clearest and most recent picture we have of her.

“But it will vary a lot from how she looks now. It’s been a very long time.”

Xie is one of three suspects sought by police with a 100,000 RMB (11,000 GBP) reward.

The others include Hao Yiyun – wanted for fraud – and Chai Boajun, who is also a murder suspect at large since 2002.

‘Bishi Kannaoke’ wrote: “I would be very satisfied if I looked like that at 45.”

‘Laoliu 8701’ added: “My mum looked pretty 25 years ago too.”
