This is the moment a police officer is shot dead outside a shopping centre by a pair of thugs before they reportedly robbed a shopper and fled on a motorbike.
The incident took place at around 4pm on 22nd August when two suspects on a motorcycle reportedly ambushed the cop, named in reports as Eliseo Nava Rodriguez, outside the Espacio Interlomas Shopping Centre in the municipality of Huixquilucan de Degollado in the central Mexican state of Mexico.
The two gunmen shot the officer over 10 times before robbing a shopper of their rucksack outside the shopping centre and fleeing on a red motorcycle, according to local media.
In the video, Rodriguez can be seen standing outside the shopping centre when he suddenly drops to the ground and two gunmen can be seen shooting at him.
The shooting caused panic in the area and an ambulance and police team arrived quickly on the scene.
However, paramedics could only confirm the cop’s death.
The area was cordoned off so that the authorities could begin the investigation into the officer’s alleged murder.
Eyewitnesses said that they saw two men on a motorbike who were waiting for the cop outside the shopping centre, before shooting him to death and fleeing the scene.
The Mexican Secretariat of Public Security sent their condolences to the victim’s family and vowed to find those responsible.
The police investigation is ongoing.
