The initial investigation suggested that the incident occurred after a rocky period in the couple’s relationship which resulted in Mabhena moving out of Sindane’s house.

On the day of the incident, Sindane allegedly brought a woman home and the two later went out together.

When they returned to pick something up, Sindane remained in his car while his female associate went inside the house where she was met by Mabhena who was armed with a gun, according to local media portal Tori.

After a while, as Sindane became suspicious of the woman taking too long to come out, he went into the house and was reportedly held at gunpoint.

According to Tori, a scuffle allegedly broke out between the two that resulted in the fatal shooting.

Sindane’s female associate apparently managed to escape without injury and immediately reported the incident to the police.
