This is the shocking moment a young woman viciously beats her trusting pet dog as she waits for a lift in her apartment block in Russia.

Grim CCTV footage shows the woman – reportedly 18 years old – suddenly attacking the helpless pooch for no apparent reason.

The footage – recorded on 5th November – is now being investigated by police in the city of Khimki, in Moscow Oblast, and the dog has been confiscated

In the clip, the woman suddenly grabs the dog by its collar and then slams it onto the hard floor on its back.

Then as it struggles to its feet, she body slams it again before slapping and punching it in the head.

Finally, she grabs the dog’s collar again and sends it flying through the air where it lands behind her, cowering in a corner.

She only stops when another resident gets out of the lift as it arrives on the 24th floor.

A second CCTV video said to have been recorded soon after shows the girl mopping the lobby where her dog had apparently urinated in terror.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that they have already received a complaint about the beating.

Following the complaint and a written statement by building residents, police officers opened an investigation concerning the incident.

Meanwhile the dog was taken away from the teenager and brought to safety by animal rights activists.
