This is the moment groups of Uruguayan and Argentine revellers engage in a mass brawl outside a nightclub in a popular coastal resort in broad daylight.

The incident was filmed out the La Rinconada club in the city of Piriapolis in the southern Uruguayan department of Maldonado, and the footage has been widely shared on social media.

In the video, dozens of people are seen brawling on a beachfront street.

A woman is heard saying: “Look! He is the friend of someone with us.”

One man is lying on the ground as a pal tries to help him, but he is quickly set upon by a topless clubber.

Another fight breaks out in the middle of the street and a man is heard shouting: “Beat him up! Come on Argentina.”

At one point, a brawler is also seen with his face covered in blood and struggling to walk as a pal supports him.

According to reports, the mass brawl started after a nightclub row between Uruguayan and Argentine revellers.

Reports said there have been no arrests as no one has reported the incident to the police, and no officers attended the scene while the fight was taking place.

However, the local authorities have confirmed they are investigating the incident after the footage was widely shared online.

Local media said the police have requested all the CCTV footage from the nightclub to help identify the ringleaders.
