This footage shows a ‘mutant’ duckling that was born with four feet.
The young duck was purchased from the city of Wugang, which is in Central China’s Hunan Province, on 19th October.
Footage shared by the duck farmer, whose name has not been given, shows him holding the duckling in one hand as it furiously chirps away.
The yellow duckling has four visible legs, two of which appear to be its own, while an additional pair are attached to its backside.
Despite clearly visible webbed feet on the extra furry legs, it is unknown whether the extra two are functional, but the duckling appears to be lively and healthy chirping away.
The farmer revealed that he purchased the duckling together with around 800 other young ducks from a local hatchery.
The duckling’s siblings can be seen in moving around inside wicker baskets in the background of the video.
According to reports, the extra growth is thought to be the result of a genetic mutation affecting the duckling during its development.
It is unclear whether the farmer plans to have the animal examined by an expert.
Social media user ‘Yanran Xiaocui’ wrote: “Is this what you get from a double-yolk egg?”
‘Luanluande Wei’ added: “This is nothing. I’ve seen people with four feet.”
