This is the moment cheering relatives gift an elderly man with a cash bundle tied to helium-filled balloons, but can only look on in horror as it escapes their grasp and flies into the air.
The incident was filmed during a birthday bash for an elderly man, name and age not disclosed, in the city of Guangzhou in the Chinese province of Guangdong.
According to the news site Baidu, relatives attached CNY 1,300 (GBP 149) in banknotes to the balloons as a present for the elderly recipient. However, a gust of wind lifted it out of the giver’s hand and the cash took to the skies.
Relatives told local media that they have so far been unable to track down the missing cash, which amounts to a considerable sum to the family.
In the footage, the line of taped banknotes is seen slipping out of a woman’s hand as it takes to the skies and she grasps after it.
Meanwhile, the group’s cheers soon turn to gasps as the cash bundle flies further away.
The money, apparently tied to helium-filled balloons, is seen flying above the roof of the house as the video comes to an end.
Netizens joked that the person who finds it will not be able to believe their luck.
