Iker Casillas’ WAG has received a letter saying “there is a lot to celebrate” and reports suggest it could refer to her having received good news with her health after she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer earlier this year.

Porto shot-stopper Casillas’s WAG Sara Carbonero, 35, posted pictures of flowers along with a letter she received from her friend and fellow journalist Isabel Jimenez.

The image shows the letter Carbonero received which says: “I knew I would not have to wait! There is a lot to celebrate, buddy. Isa, Alex and Hugo.”

In another image, the colourful flowers Jimenez sent to Carbonero can be seen.

Iker Casillas also posted a picture where he can be seen smiling in a street. The picture is captioned: “A day to be very happy!! #goodnightworld”

Local newspaper ’20 Minutos’ write that with the posts “everything points to the fact the Carabonero could have received good news in regards to her health”.

Netizens have also speculated on what the mysterious cause for celebration could be, such as ‘luzmuinos’ wrote: “After seeing the stories of @saracarbonero it is easy (and nice) to think about what may be the cause of this happiness. Congratulations and live life!!!”

‘montse9053’ commented: “I am guessing it is good news about Sara, that makes me REALLY happy.”

‘beasanz17610’: “Let’s hope it is good news about a @saracarbonero which is what we hope for, her full recovery.”

Carbonero publicly announced she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer after doctors discovered a malignant tumour in her ovaries in May of this year.

She underwent surgery at the Ruber International Clinic in the Spanish capital Madrid to remove it.

In a post on her social media page in late May, she said it was found in time and the operation was successful but she still had “months of fighting” ahead.

It has been almost six months since her operation during which time the journalist has used social media to post positive messages and stories all hinting at a full recovery.

Casillas himself is recovering from a heart attack during a training session in early May 2019 which has kept him off the pitch for official matches but he did reportedly return to practice with the club in the pre-season in July of this year.

Casillas was reportedly fitted with a coronary stent, a tube-shaped device placed in the coronary arteries to supply blood to the heart and keep the arteries open during the treatment of heart disease.

Despite experts claiming his career would be over after the operation, Casillas continues to hint at his return later this season.
