This dramatic dashcam footage shows a bungling motorist hitting another vehicle while merging onto a motorway and sending the car skidding over 65 feet on its roof.

The accident happened on the Fuzhou-Yinchuan Expressway over the city of Xiangyang in Central China’s Hubei Province on 7th May.

Dashcam footage from both cars shows a saloon driven by a man surnamed Wang proceeding straight on the slip road when he encounters the SUV.

SUV driver Zhou fails to give right of way to Wang and merges right onto the slip road in front of the saloon driver without slowing down.

The two cars collide and the smaller saloon ends up overturning onto its roof, with Zhou’s dashcam showing the white car sliding along the road on its roof for more than 20 metres (65 feet).

Local authorities said neither Wang nor his female passenger, Zhang, were seriously injured. Zhang was treated for a minor injury to her foot but did not require a hospital stay.

Wang said both he and his passenger were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident.

Zhou is to be held fully liable for the crash for failing to yield to Wang’s car.
