A CCTV camera at the junction of Xinshi Street and Tangcheng Road captured the flatbed lorry, driven by Mr Wang, 32, entering the crossroads with the digger on the back.

At the same time, saloon owner Mr Zhang, 24, approaches through the junction from the opposite direction, the video shows.

Mr Wang fails to notice the height clearance bar and crashes the excavator’s cabin into the underside of the metal rig, breaking it and causing it to drop onto Mr Zhang’s saloon.
