This is the moment four builders narrowly escape death as the scaffolding they are standing on outside a tower block collapses like a house of cards.

The incident was filmed in the city of Derbent in the south-western Russian republic of Dagestan by an onlooker, and the footage was later posted on social media.

According to local media, the men were positioned on the ninth floor when the scaffolding collapsed and luckily everyone survived.

Reports said the four workers’ fall was cushioned by the wooden panels as they plummeted to the ground.

The workers were taken to a nearby hospital and two men were released after receiving treatment to minor injuries.

Meanwhile, the local authorities are reportedly investigating the incident to establish whether the construction company is culpable of negligence.

Netizen ‘Inna Akberova’ said: “Thank God everyone is alive.”

‘AhmZai1’ commented: “Poor guys, their job is so hard anyway. Hope they got well soon. I can only imagine what kind of injuries they might have suffered.”

‘Mirzoevaazhai’ wrote: “Why is their employer not taking proper care of their safety? Why are things like this not properly supervised?”
