A Brazilian singer has accused a bandmate of sexually abusing her while she was sleeping in bed next to her husband.

Larissa Ferreira, one of the vocalists in the Brazilian band Mastruz com Leite, revealed the incident on social media on 4th December.

She said the bandmate, who had recently joined the band and has not been named, spent the night at her house after enjoying an evening with her and her husband Jean, the group’s drummer.

Larissa said the bandmate slept in her daughter’s hammock in the same room as them after arriving home from a trip and they stayed up late drinking, admitting that she “was blotto and so was Jean”.

She added: “We went to sleep at around 1am. The man stayed in our room.”

During the night, Larissa claimed she “felt a person touching me, touching my body, kissing my face, sniffing me”, adding: “He was moving my hand onto his private parts.

“This man did this to me. While I was lying in my own bed, in my room, with my husband next to me. This person abused me.

“I just kept my eyes closed, I did not raise the alarm. I just shoved him away and he left. I know that if I had raised the alarm, Jean would have killed that man here in the house.”

Larissa also said that she spent the next week crying, vomiting and wondering whether to tell her husband or not.

However, before the band was due to take another trip, she told her band bosses, who are supporting her decision to speak up.

Mastruz com Leite said in a statement: “The band is already taking measures against the musician and is providing support to the singer, who is fragile but is being comforted by friends and family.

“Mastruz com Leite rejects any and all forms of abuse against women, whether physical, psychological or sexual. We continue to provide assistance and support for Larissa.”
