Brazil Influencer Left With Split Nose After Botched Plastic Surgery

This pretty Brazilian influencer has been left with a split nose that exposed her cartilage following a botched nose job.

Sthefane Matos, 22, revealed on social media on 10th December that she underwent rhinoplasty in February.

However, she was unhappy with the results, and underwent a second nose job in November.

She told her 2.9 million YouTube subscribers: “I had a healthy, perfect nose. I underwent rhinoplasty in order to fit in with a beauty standard that doesn’t exist. My nose didn’t look good, it ended up very short, without a tip, and crooked. One side was smaller than the other, deformed.”

Following her second operation, the skin on her nose split three times.

She said: “One day I woke up and my nose was open, the cartilage completely exposed. It was very nerve-wracking.”

The influencer had to travel from her native Bahia in the north-east of Brazil to Sao Paulo in the south-east to undergo emergency surgery.

Skin from the woman’s lips and ear had to be grafted onto her nose, which left it with a different skin colour and texture.

According to Denis Calazans, president of the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery, Matos’ surgeons were not necessarily to blame.

He told local media: “This does not mean that something went wrong during the surgery. The graft is used to replace cartilage and structure the nose. Another important factor is related to healing process, which varies according to the body. Therefore, it is important to follow all medical recommendations before and after surgery.”

Matos, despite her ordeals, has remained upbeat and has thanked her followers for their well-wishes.

She continues to post updates on her popular YouTube channel as well as Instagram where she boasts 8.1 million followers.
