Brazil Footballer Electrocuted When Kite Hits Cables

This Brazilian football star has tragically died in an accident after the kite he was flying hit an overhead power cable and he was electrocuted.

Left-back Kaio Felipe Santos Silva, 21, reportedly died yesterday afternoon as he was flying a kite in the city of Sao Paulo in the southeastern Brazilian state of the same name.

The defender, who played for Independente de Limeira who play in the Campeonato Paulista A2, was reportedly killed when the flight hit cables and he suffered an electric shock.

Independente expressed their regret at the accident, writing on social media: “With a feeling of regret Independente Football Club report the death of our player Kaio Felipe. We send our sincerest condolences to his friends and family.”

Local journalist Edmar Ferreira wrote: “So young, so full of life, so polite, so humble, so friendly. I had a beautiful friendship with him, which started at Inter U-20s. I even nicknamed him the “Fabio Santos of Pradao” because of his penalties and free-kicks.

Fabio Santos is a left-back who plays for Atletico Mineiro and is known as a penalty specialist.

Kaio Felipe turned professional with Inter de Limeira and also played for Centro Sportivo Paraibano (CSP) before moving to Independente where he made 22 appearances scoring six goals.
