This is the moment a brave woman fights back against a pair of armed thugs trying to rob her and break into her home with the thieves eventually running away in fear.

The incident occurred when Monica Reinoso arrived home with her husband Osvaldo, who was in crutches, in the town of Quilmes, in the eastern Argentina province of Buenos Aires.

In the video, Monica can be seen walking towards the house where their daughter was inside as her husband in crutches walks behind her.

Two men, one in an orange hoodie and the other in black, walk past her before turning around and walking up to her.

The thug in orange appears to try to rob the woman who fights back, throwing punches at the thug as he swings wildly back at her.

The woman does not back down and continues punching the thug as her husband hops away. The pair of thieves then run away from the scene as the woman walks after them.

Husband Osvaldo said: “When we were about to go in, the thieves showed a weapon and demanded my wife hand over her rucksack and the keys to the home. Our daughter was inside the house.”

He described his wife as “a warrior” and Monica herself told reporters “before going into my house they were about to kill me”.

Local media report the thugs were left empty-handed and a police investigation has been launched.

No arrests have been reported.
